During the 2011/12 campaign, Ferdinand represented Manchester United, while Mourinho took the helm as the club's manager in the 2017/18 season. During these respective seasons, Manchester City secured the Premier League title, with United finishing as the runners-up. Should Manchester City's title be stripped due to allegations during their championship run, the trophy might then be awarded to Manchester United.
